House of Hamill’s music is self-described as “upcycled Celtic folk”. The band includes Rose Baldino (fiddle and vocals), Brian Buchanan (fiddle, vocals, and guitar), and Caroline Browning (bass, mandolin, and piano). The trio tours nationally, performing at music festivals and selling out established folk venues.
From George Graham's review, WVIA Public Radio:
“The ‘Wildfire’ album by House of Hamill is probably their best yet. Their creative, stylistic amalgam is skillfully constructed with appealing original songs, but with traditional elements that show their sources of inspiration, Celtic, Bluegrass, traditional folk, plus a little straight-out rock . . . House of Hamill’s “Wildfire” offers both the acoustic and electric side and does both adeptly and with a good deal of class.”
In honor of John Lennon, The John Lennon Songwriting Contest is an international songwriting contest that began in 1997 to give songwriters an opportunity to express themselves, gain recognition, and get their music heard. The JLSC is made possible by Yoko Ono Lennon.
Proceeds from the contest help support the non-profit John Lennon Educational Tour Bus mobile recording studio which provides young people with opportunities to create original music and digital media.
