In the late summer, the Nimble Thimbles, the sewing and quilting group at the Irish American Heritage Center, turn our attention to – Christmas!!! We make and donate hundreds of Christmas stockings, to be filled, for overseas military personnel. The Organization promoting this effort is
Operation Support Our Troops
and our very own Pat Dziedzic heads the project. We use donated Christmas fabrics, and back many of the stockings with donated synthetic felt. Last year we donated 300 stockings, and this year, we are on target to make more than that.
